Microstars figures UK Series 1:

Cortinthian released the first series of Microstars in the UK in February 2001. This series consists of 21 players from 11 Teams of the Premierr League and the Scottish Premiership in their Home Kits. But to be correct, there are 22 figures in this series. But Corinthian stopped the production of the Tore Andre Flow figure in the Chelsea Kit after he was trasfered to Rangers shortly after the release of the series. Rumors say, that 4600 figures of Flo in the Chelsea Kit were produced. And yes, some made their way to collectors. I’m one of these happy collectors with a Flo in Chelsea Kit in his collection. Corinthian also planed to release Henrik Larsson in Celtic Kit with his famous dreadlocks in series 1. But before the release Larsson cut them off and Corinthian cancelled the figure. So the Larrson figure was released later in UK Series 3 with shaved head. However, I managed to get a prototype figure of Larsson with dreadlocks for my collection and happy to show here some pictures. Also 6 figures were planned from Italien Serie A Clubs for series 1, which were also cancelled. Maldini (Milan), Seedorf (Inter), Thuram (Parma), Batistuta (Roma), Rui Costa /Fiorentina) and Crespo (Lazio). Especially Seedorf, Thuram, Rui Costa and Crespo are something special, because they were never released in these kits in any later Microstars series. So I’m very happy to have also prototypes of these 6 figures in my collection which I can show here.
